- Music In Motion - MIM
Feb 16, 2012 - 6:00pm
Phoenix, AZ 85050We BACK PORCH BANDits, in full five-piece roar, are honored to play the Music in Motion event at Phoenix’s world-class Musical Instrument Museum. This unique venue is home to 5,000+ pieces on display, plus another 10,000 or so being readied for exhibit.
Hardly anything in the world is like MIM, and it is staffed by some of the friendliest folks we’ve encountered. Here’s a link:

Barring weather difficulties, we’ll be playing on the lovely main courtyard from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. There is an alternate location plan even WITH weather difficulties, so don’t let a little coolth or precip slow you down.
LATE FLASH!! MIM has established a new listener-friendly admission policy for Music in Motion events! As always, performances are free with paid museum admission. But if you don’t have time for a museum tour on performance night, a mere $7.00 will admit you to more than two hours of music, food, drink and fun on the main courtyard!
There will be coffee-shop-type food – sandwiches, etc. – and drink available for purchase.
There are some specials, too. A big deal is the chef’s Cowboy Cocktail, created just for this performance. I’m told it’s a tasty mixture of mint, lime, tequila blanco, and beer. All Arizona beers are on sale that evening for $3 each, too. Sounds dandy.
Come on out. It’ll be Big Fun.
(It won’t do you any harm to visit the museum before or after February, for that matter. This is a big place plumb full of extraordinary musical exhibits and experiences, so cut out some time. Look for our latest CD in the museum store, too.)

We Back Porch Bandits play sets at 11:45 a.m. and 2:45 p.m., and we are privileged to join other excellent bands for a full day of top-quality entertainment.
Here’s the Chamber’s link, where they’ll be updating information about the festival:

There will be continuous acts from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, the only day of the festival.
The location is excellent, virtually in the center of Arizona and easy travel from all over the state. Here’s a map link:
